Hello, you can call me Yesi

I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) trauma-informed therapist and the heart behind Cardenales Healing Center. I specialize in supporting first- and second-generation individuals, especially young adults, children, and families navigating the complex layers of trauma, identity, neurodivergence, and cultural assimilation.

My path to this work began long before I became a therapist. I’ve always known I was meant to help others heal. Growing up as a highly sensitive and neurodivergent child, I often felt like I lived between worlds:  born in Mexico, raised in San Benito, Texas, and learning to exist in spaces that didn’t always know how to hold all of who I was. My personal experience and education has given me the confidence to know that I can help you. I integrate a range of therapy modalities into my practice, such as EMDR, Sandtray, Expressive Arts, Mindfulness, and in the future, Plant Medicine.

Healing isn't one-size-fits-all. At Cardenales, we move at the pace of your body, your story, and your truth. We work on creating space for all parts of you to be heard, witnessed, and empowered.

The Story of Cardenales

I’ve always known I was meant to help others heal. As a child, I felt everything deeply the joy, the pain, the unspoken truths in a room. I was born in Mexico and raised in San Benito, Texas, in a space between cultures, sort of. Too sensitive for a world that didn’t know how to hold me, too Mexican for some, not Mexican enough for others , that often left me feeling like a misfit. Being neurodivergent only deepened that sense of otherness. I now understand that what once felt like isolation was actually the sacred soil for my calling.

Today, I joke that I’ve become the person I needed when I was younger. That little girl, and the wisdom she carried, led me to create Cardenales Healing Center. The name and vision came to me through my spiritual practice. To me the cardinal is a guide, a messenger. In my life, it has been a symbol of purpose, roots, and returning to self. Cardenales is the manifestation of that return: a healing space grounded in cultural wisdom, soul work, and holistic care.

At Cardenales Healing Center, we don’t just treat symptoms, we honor the soul. I combine evidence-based practices like EMDR, Play Therapy, and ASSYST Protocol with breathwork, mindfulness, and ancestral wisdom. I am trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, and deeply committed to supporting first-generation, Latine, and spiritual individuals through the challenges of identity, trauma, belonging, and healing.

And this is just the beginning.

In the near future, Cardenales will grow into a holistic retreat center that will serve as a homecoming for the mind, body, and spirit. A place where therapists, holistic psychiatrists, Chinese medicine doctors, yoga teachers, and plant medicine guides work together to support deep transformation. We will gather in community through sound baths, breathwork, hikes, and ceremony, all rooted in the sacred healing traditions of our ancestors.

Here, you are not alone. You are not too much. You are worthy of coming home to yourself.
